Sonic Lamb Wins CES 2026 Innovation Award

New Delhi: Indian audio technology company Rapture Innovation Labs Pvt. Ltd. has won a CES® Innovation Award 2026 in the Headphones & Personal Audio category for its Sonic Lamb Gen 2 headphones.

The award, presented by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), recognises outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products globally.

Sonic Lamb Gen 2 was recognised for introducing a differentiated personal audio architecture that combines conventional air-conduction sound with a patented mechanical impulse system.

Unlike traditional headphones that rely solely on acoustic drivers, Sonic Lamb’s Impulse Driver™ technology converts low-frequency audio into controlled mechanical impulses delivered around the ears. The approach enables users to physically sense low-frequency bass without increasing playback volume.

According to the official CES citation, the Gen 2 platform transforms sub-bass frequencies into physical vibrations, creating an immersive, subwoofer-like listening experience within a personal headphone form factor.

The company positions the technology as hardware-led innovation rather than software-based sound simulation. The Gen 2 model incorporates a proprietary transducer system designed to convert sub-bass frequencies into precise physical feedback while maintaining standard acoustic output.

Founded by Navajith Karkera and Jagath Biddappa, Rapture Innovation Labs focuses on building proprietary intellectual property in audio hardware engineering. The company said the award highlights India’s growing capabilities in deep-tech consumer electronics design.

Navajith Karkera, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said the recognition validates the company’s approach to hardware-driven audio innovation.

“Winning the CES Innovation Award validates our belief that personal audio can evolve beyond conventional acoustic boundaries. Our focus has been on original engineering and proprietary technology to create differentiated listening experiences,” he said.
