According to the company, India’s frozen food packaging market is expected to reach $78.9 billion by 2031, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.9%.
The newly introduced Freezer Grade PP Sheets are engineered to withstand low-temperature environments while maintaining structural integrity and durability. The sheets are intended for thermoforming applications, including trays, tubs and other rigid packaging formats used for frozen and chilled products.
Cosmo Plastech stated that the solution is designed to help food brands and processors improve product protection, shelf presentation and operational efficiency during storage and transportation.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Himanshu Gupta, Business Head, Cosmo Plastech, said, “The frozen and ready-to-cook food segment is witnessing strong growth, creating the need for packaging materials that can perform consistently in demanding cold-chain conditions. Our Freezer Grade PP Sheets are engineered to deliver durability, processability and food safety while helping brands optimise packaging performance and sustainability.”
According to the company, the sheets provide high impact resistance at sub-zero temperatures along with stiffness, moisture resistance and oil resistance. The material also meets food-grade compliance requirements, making it suitable for packaging vegetables, fish and seafood, meat products, ready-to-cook foods and frozen snacks.
The company added that the material supports lightweight packaging designs and recyclability, reflecting growing industry interest in sustainable packaging solutions.
With increased focus on reducing food wastage and strengthening temperature-sensitive supply chains, rigid packaging materials designed for freezer applications are becoming an important component of product preservation, hygiene and transportation reliability.
